Bulgarian children are aged 12 months and older of both sexes available for adoption. The children are Caucasian with combination of dark hair and brown eyes as well as fair skin and blue eyes. The children are in Bulgarian orphanage

HOW LONG WILL THE PROCESS TAKE?

Once the Dossier is completed, a referral of a child from Bulgarian Central Authority can come within 9 months to 1,5 year. After the adoptive parents accept the referral, they can expect to travel within one – two months for the first visit of the child and start the necessary paperwork.

HOW AM I MATCHED WITH A CHILD?

All of the children are available in a Central Governmental Office –Central Authority in Sofia. Commission of professionals identifies the child for adoptive parents who meets their criteria and the child’s best interest.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS

Married Couples as well as single females may adopt children of age 12 months or older. The single mother needs to be at least 15 years older than the adopted child. At least one of the married adoptive parents needs to be 15 years older than the adopted child.

DO I NEED TO TRAVEL TO BULGARIA?

Two trips are required. The first one is to meet the child and perform the required paper work. The second one is 2 to 5 months later to pick up the child after finalization of adoption in Bulgarian Court. The average stay in Bulgaria is between 7 and 10 days the first trip and 3-4 days the second time.

HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST

CAN I ADOPT MORE THAN ONE CHILD AT A TIME?

Yes, if they are siblings.

OVERVEIW OF FEES AND COSTS:

The estimated fee for adoption in Bulgaria is $19,000 - $22,000. The fees are non-refundable. If you become pregnant or choose the services of another agency, the fees will not be refunded.
